summary
This was our fourth project at The Game Assembly, a Top-down Adventure, working in a much smaller group and shorter time-span. This meant working on improving our agile workflow, structuring in a way that let us playtest and iterate more often than usual. Right after our team decided on a "Fisherman's adventure" theme, me and my LD collegues sat down and sketched each of our levels. After only a week we were finished and soon made our rough blockout inside Unity, our editor. After this, the process went very smoothly, keeping good communication with each other as well as more playtesting.
Looking back, I'm very proud of our teamwork as well as the level I made. Since it was level 1, I took on the task to introduce the player mechanics, such as activating bridges, introducing enemies and more which was very fun. Because our game was from a top-down perspective, I paid extra attention to player sightlines when creating my level.
This project was so much fun and educating. It not only strengthened my level design skills but also enhanced my teamwork and communication too.
