Desolate soul
platformer

"You're a guardian with good intentions, but through your ignorance you release an ancient force threatening the world you swore to defend. With the help of a holy relic, fight and purify the darkness that has engulfed your home while jumping and dashing through danger in your way."

summary

This was our third project at The Game Assembly, a 3D platformer made using our schools own engine, TGE, and Unity as editor. This project taught me alot about platforming levels by making as much use of the player mechanics that progressively gets more difficult while also weaving a narrative story into it. I spent a lot of time analysing our reference games to better understand the platforming genre, before sitting down and sketching my level. Me and my LD teammates worked together to also create a tutorial level, introducing the player machanics and narrative. This project was challenging me in new ways and I had so much fun along the way.
